Winter Parking Rules in Effect

From October 1 of each year until April 15 of the following year, within the area of the city outside of the central business district it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or trailer on any north-south avenue between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, or on any east-west street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be impounded by law enforcement.

The central business district for purposes of this ordinance shall be defined as follows:  Front Street between 8th Avenue and 6th Avenue, 8th Avenue between Front Street and 1st Street North, 6th Avenue between railroad tracks and 1st Street North, 1st Street North between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue,  and Langer Avenue between Front Street and 1st Street North.

Within the central business district it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or trailer on any north-south avenue between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, or on any east-west street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays,. Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be impounded by law enforcement.

No parking 2am-6am on Mondays during the remainder of the calendar year in the Central Business District and ALL along Langer Avenue.

Any vehicle that accrues more than $40 in unpaid parking ticket fines may be impounded by law enforcement.

2021 Dog and Cat Licenses

Now available at: Auditor's Office or Casselton Vet Clinic
Proof of rabies vaccination is required. 2021 licensing is due by March 1st on all pets over 6 months. old.  Failure to license a cat or dog is punishable by a fine of at least $100.  License fee is $4.00 per animal.

There is a pet license application to fill out if a resident has conflicts with office hours. The fee is then $5.00 to mail the pet tag to the owner.

New Years Eve Fireworks

N E W Y E A R ’ S E V E F I R E W O R K S

Pursuant to City Ordinance, other than during the 4th of July celebration no fireworks may be set off within Casselton city limits without a city council approved permit. Permit applications are available at the city auditor’s office to persons 18 years or older. Permit fee is $10.00 and must be submitted with the application by December 3rd for any displays during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

City Landfill

City Landfill

Due to the warm weather, the City Landfill will be open yet this week.  Hours are from 3pm to dark Wednesday, Thursday & Friday and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday. 

Directions: Go south at Front Street and 15th Ave N.

Apples, pumpkins and leaves should all be disposed of at the landfill, not in the garbage totes.
