Winter Parking Begins October 1st

Parking Ordinance

B. From October 1 of each year until April 15 of the following year, within the area of the city outside of the central business district it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle or trailer on any north-south avenue between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, or on any east-west street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Any vehicle or trailer parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be impounded by law enforcement.

NOTE: The central business district parking rules are enforceable year round. See Ordinance #289

Casselton Comprehensive Plan

The City of Casselton and the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (Metro COG) have prepared a draft of the Casselton Comprehensive Plan which is now available for public comment and inspection. The plan is intended to offer guidance for public policy and decision-making on a wide range of topics including: housing, land use, transportation, public facilities, utilities, natural resources, economic development, community character, and design.

A draft of the Casselton Comprehensive Plan is available for review at Casselton City Hall (702 1st Street North, Casselton, ND 58012), the City of Casselton website at www.casselton.com, or on Metro COG’s website at www.fmmetrocog.org. All comments should be submitted by June 3rd, 2019 to Sheila Klevgard, City Auditor (Casselton City Hall) or by email at cassaudit@casselton.org with "Casselton Public Comment” in the email subject heading.

The City of Casselton does allow fireworks ONLY July 3, 4, & 5th from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. and until midnight on the 4th. Expended fireworks trash IS NOT recyclable. DO NOT put in any recycle bins and please clean up the streets after your 4th of July fun.

City Fireworks Info

Casselton city ordinance allows fireworks displays only on July 3 – 5 from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm and until midnight on the 4th. Displays on any other date or time require a permit approved by city council.  Permit applications are available at the city auditor’s office to persons 18 years or older.  Permit fee is $10.00 and must be submitted with the application by June 28th for any displays after July 4th.
